Who is eligible to apply for an OCI Card?

A foreign national who was eligible to become a citizen of India on 26 January 1950, was a citizen of India on or after that date, or belonged to a territory that became part of India after 15 August 1947 may be eligible to apply for an OCI Card. Certain descendants of such persons may also be eligible, subject to the provisions of the Citizenship Act, 1955.
